Small fermenting jar 1

$145.00

Fermentation is life! Feed those good bacteria!

This would make a great gift for someone who you think might like to get into fermentation. It is a perfect starter size.

I highly recommend Sandor Katz’s books as an accompaniment, too, if you are looking to get someone into fermenting.

I ferment a fair bit myself and can attest that these jars work really well. The deep rim that the lid sits in is a water seal which you fill with water or brine. Gases can escape, but no air can get in!

This pot came out of Pepino, the soda chamber of Pepina, a wood kiln at Pleasant Hill Pottery in Oregon. I really love the surface thta resulted.

Dimensions: Approximately 8” tall x 5.5” wide

This would hold approximately 1400ml water if filled up.

My pots are microwave, dishwasher and oven safe. I make them with stoneware clay and fire until they’re vitrified, around 2350°F.

If a pot you like is sold out, just email me and I can make you a similar one! I also take commissions of all sorts; please email me if you have an idea.

I ship with USPS and UPS and send tracking information after sending each order.

I ship internationally; it’s no problem, but it may require a little extra postage. It’s hard to estimate as it changes from country to country. For these international orders, I will contact you if there is a discrepancy between what you pay and the actual cost.
