You might argue that the invention of plastic has made ceramic bottles obsolete. You would be right. Mostly, anyway. I use the bottles I make for water and beer, and I love it. It's like eating soup with a wooden spoon... feels kind of wrong to start with, but also like that's what it was like in medieval times. It is always a thrill to offer someone a homemade beer at my house in bottles I've thrown. They make nice vases too.
